BREAKING: Resolution onvirus probe passed at World Health Assembly

The World Health Assembly has passed the motioncalling for a global independent inquiry into the COVID-19 response.

The motion, led by calls from Australia and put forwardby the European Union, was eventually co-sponsored by 137 countries, includingChina, which had previously opposed an independent probe into the origins ofthe virus and handling of the fallout.

"Delighted that the WHA Assembly has passed byconsensus the Motion calling for an impartial, independent & comprehensiveexamination of the global response to COVID-19," Australian HealthMinister Greg Hunt said.

"The support of 137 co sponsors furtherstrengthens this as a key step to protect against future pandemics."
