Sour times for milk of human kindness

    Quote from the article:

"There has long been a convention in Australia that politicians, when overseas, do not trash their own country, regardless of the domestic debates at home. Even at the height of his pitched battles with Labor when it was trying to blunt every one of his economic reforms, John Howard would never mention this while abroad, lauding the strength and resilience of the Australian economy. Indeed, he would often go out of his way to dip his lid to Hawke-Keating reforms as being partly responsible for the current picture.

Morrison is not going overseas to promote Australia or inform himself in the cause of Coalition policy development. He is visiting a significant neighbour to do two things - undermine and embarrass the government in front of a foreign audience and, by the very nature of his fact-finding mission, insult the Malaysians as barbarians.

It is a clumsy exercise that may play well to the crowd back home but is fraught with diplomatic danger. It threatens to set a nasty precedent."

    End of quote.

These Liberals will do anything for political point scoring. During the GFC they constantly talked down the Australian economy, and now this behaviour from Morrison.
