Expansive supply chains are key to the “globalist” business model as developed over the past 30 years. Literally weaponizing consumer products will severely impact confidence in this model, with attendant long-term consequences particularly for the West.
Also - long been weary of the armchair strategists since 2014 demanding immediate escalation, in Ukraine, in Mid-east, when it has been plain as day that is exactly what NATO/Israel has desired all along. Self-delusion / self-defeat seems baked into their “smart power” concepts, so the attrition approach is strategically sound and avoids a total war disaster.
