I'm sorry - you're just having an emotional response and not observing, then using logic and reason.
If you look at what companies and people have left Oz in the last 50 years and what has come in - you'll basically see a nightmare
it's why they call it a brain drain - that term should give you an idea.
If you look at how easy or hard it is to get an idea running in Oz - compared to say the USA - then, be in no doubt why they are leaps and bounds ahead in technology - also, look at the education.
It's not 'my' standard you should be emoting about - it's world standard - that's the important point.
We have actually had the people - and, we still have some - but, we've lost a flood of smart people.
Now - if you want to see backing - and, some smart people - look right now at Sydney University working on quantum computing --- yep - some smart people -
in partnership with whom?
Microsoft ----------- an American Software company.
Why not Aussie backing?? -- Microsoft isn't exactly the hallmark of hardware and chip manufacture --
and, the investment isn't something as big as China's AI or doing a moonshot -
so, where's the Aussies?? - for what may well be one of the biggest discoveries shaping up of all time????
If Microsoft felt it was good enough to come to Australia and dump in cash --------- why didn't any Aussie companies?
Where do you think that technology will go when they crack the code????????
Stay in Oz? be manufactured in Byron Bay - next to Elvis's house?
Or go to Silicon Valley???
