An example of bots manipulating the sentiment might be: the bid is .086 the offer is .087 no trades happen for an hour, people are wondering will it go up or down. The next trade is .086 – some then assume it’s going down and decide to sell (sometimes triggering stops). However if you look at the volume of 256 shares ($22) this is obviously not a real trade, and thus false sentiment. This sentiment manipulation can also be seen at the open/close by trading that 1 extra share to move the share price that 1 extra pip either way. (This is low volume, other techniques are used in large volume, but concept the same). These trades are not to be confused when someone purchases 100,000 and happens to get 99,744 from one sellers and 256 from another.
