The port cost is a saving of about $50 million on what they thought it would be,that was just for the port work ,not including the infrastructure to be built at the port. They have said the Chinese quotes are a lot cheaper than anyone else.
The original Capex was about US$2.4 billion and went up because of the iron ore boom. The cost to produce at that stage was around $14.50 per tonne and went up to just under $20 with the iron ore boom. From what has been said,I expect the Capex to come back (towards) the original figure. We have to also look at what they are now talking about as well.Pig iron plant,slurry pipe line.Pellet plant.
