Lim, HanLong having let loose a can of worms with the NO-TALK-NO-SHOP waiver has to use every trick in the book to undermine any leverage SDL may gain from the CDB letter.
The other area where the Chinese may do to destroy SDL's bargaining position is to collude with the Africans by inserting unacceptably onerous clauses (deadlines and associated penalties for example) into the mining permit that no publicly listed western minging house would or could stomach.
Who knows, the current NEGOTIATIONS could still break down.
The last thing Han Long needs right now is for Sundance to go public with mere suggestions of unofficial counter-proposals and that will complicate matters for China big time !
