Things were going swimingly and SDL was approached in a merger deal, share price shot up to 80 something
Deal fell through and share price plummeted
The subprime saga then decided to come along and hit poor SDL while it was down..
Many jumped off in fear, the smart/(less risk adverse) ones saw it as a great opportunity to buy some more and averaged down and lived happily ever after
Still risky though, but full of potential
