Hi Serena.
I believe around 62.3 to 63%Fe for DSO, from or near to surface. I believe the impurities are also at a low/reasonable rate that is looked for by buyers. BHP, RIO are at a slightly lower %Fe to SDL. FMG are at a far lower grade to SDL. Vale have High Grade iron ore and Itabirite. SDL Itabirite is I believe higher than Vale Itabirite when converted to Pellet Feed and Concentrate. The Itabirite will be dug up as soon as the DSO bottom is found, sits directly below the DSO and continues down to at least 600metre depth at Mbarga and at least 400metre depth at Nabeba. Some of the same type of mines in Brazil for Itabirite go to 1,000metres depth I believe.
I was told by a very good authority a few years ago that the Mbarga mine pit will be around the same size if not bigger than Mt Whaleback at BHP's Newman project. Mt Whaleback is noted to be the biggest or close to biggest high grade mine pit in the World.
Wait for the contradictions to be now posted.
Regards
Westcott.
