I think you are talking about Yangadou, where SDL have an Airfield as well. Also around the area that Core Mining have the right of excess to get to their Avima tenement. They built a road from Yangadou to their mining site at Avima, around 40kls I believe.
The Italians first had the gold mining rights. It was abandoned I belive because of water problems. They did get several tonnes of gold out before abandoning the mine.
