Launched in late 2013, Phase 1, 38.5 kilometres long of the Lolabe-Kribi-Edea Highway in July 2016 was 25% complete. Rain has held the construction back, Earthwork is completed, some places the pavement is taking shape. China Engineering Company (CHEC) technitions and their Cameroonian counterparts say the project will be delivered in the second half of 2018.
It is to be a three lane carriageway. Six large bridges and Ten scuppers. Two interchanges. The largest bridge on the Lobe River has begun. Raining every day since May 2016 until around early November 2016.
