When you break it down this is scare mongering on Yilyanga's part. 1 Square Km is hardly going to result in cultural genocide. What a joke.
If you look on google earth at the expanse of the area that GOT holds over the water you get an understanding of just how large it is. GOT could probably mine an area to the eastern end of the leases were there is litle to no settlement. If GOT are quick they could have the area mined before anyone even found out, lol.
I just hope that the government have the sense to see through the scare mongering and asses the project on its merits.
As far as songlines go it is only beliefs, they are not tangible nor are they real. Just because some fella said they exist along time ago doesnt mean that it is true. There is no evidence. It is like GOD it is a belief or a faith and songlines, just like religion, can be manipulated to suit ones objectives.
Common sense needs to be the order of the day here.
