I'll address your pots on this one post

    Jaeb

The situation re the licences is being addressed in the here and now...Territory Trepang Traders seem to have solved that issue for themselves. Tasmanion Seafoods who hold current licences are in a joint venture with the TO's on the eastern side of the Eylandt in the here and now. They may well be involved in operations over this way. Trepang aquaculture is already here...but its all trials at the moment.

The NT Government is in the process of acquiring, buying back, commercial fishing licences to be re-allocated to indiginous ventures in the NT.

Recreational fishing is rife in the sea covered by GR's EL's...suggest Google...Groote Eylandt Game Fishing Club (I'll post the exact correct monicker from work to-morrow) and you'll find that it's very big time...courtesy of the mining industry and the very big, flash boats miner's tend to buy ( areal status symbol here). Aborigines fish their heads off here and also hunt dugong and turtle.

Yes, there's hoops and the odd precepice and barbed wite to navigate as we discover in our "scoping" of potentialites.

I'm pretty confident that the NT Govt, DOR and the EPBC will deal with this on its merits...the issues I raise and which you label as scaremongering will be factors taken into consideration.

Re the area involved see my post CBD.

Of course Song Long Lines are conceptual, for us in the Mainstream. For ceremonial aboriginal people their existence is quantified by the existence of sacred sites, sites of significance etc. created by the Totemic Beings on their journeys. etc. However, if you take the time to look at Native Title determinations they are treated as "concrete", particularly if they are utilised via ceremonial activity or to define kinship relationships i.e they have a practical, ongoing and current application in the culture.

I'd suggest you're a bit harsh in you "manipulation " comment...TO's, anywhere, to obtain Native Title, for example, must prove, by pre defined legal criteria, that they are not manipulating and making stuff up. And the "proof" needed is tested rigorously...achieving Native Title rarely takes less than ten years or so.

I'll tell you something Retrac, your cynicism re Aborigines is reciprocated by them in regard to us...they actually see their cultural practices and Ceremonial Law as unchanging. Their criticism of Mainstream Law is that it changes all the time, and is in fact made up to suit our objectives...and I'd say that's a pretty keen observation. Their argument is that they never change the goalposts but that we do it all the time.

What in the hell is "commonsense"; that it's obviously culturally bounded must be taken as a given. And in our Mainstream Culture what's commonsense to one may not be commonsense to another. That's why we have this notion of "objectivity" in deciding matters by reference to pre defined criteria.

Due process will decide the outcome here...but because it's also a political issue what will be taken into account is the "court of public opinion"...media coverage etc. The "court of public opinion" is pretty much pro-mining now, I believe anyway...the mining industry itself by it's ceaseless propaganda and lobbying is encouraging that. But there's certainly a Green sentiment, one so powerful that in fact it can decide who governs and have a mighty big say even though they attract maybe 15% of the vote.

The TO's target the "court of public opinion" but what they have also done in this case is to go after GOT's SP, because that's where it hurts most... and although I know I am not addressing the "market" that's why I post here, and that's why our campaign relies very much on negative media coverage for GOT.

I tell you Retrac we try and get media traction regularly. I could post ten or fifteen media releases that have not generated a skeric of print or electronic media coverage. But they do cultivate a network of journalists who keep their eye on events, and when they do write or talk they're fully backgrounded, and in the process of backrounding themselves they talk to politicians and to GOT too for that matter.

What stunned me was when, by dint of the so called recent "acquisition". GOT generated scornfull negative media coverage for themselves (!!!!)...and I wouldn't be surprised that, just on the back of that one story, some SH's will just be trying to recoup and then get the hell away from the stock.

Have a look at the history of the stock, based as it is on perceptions because in fact at this point in time it's simply based on conceptualisation... they don't mine or make anything, they sell a conceptual product....postive media coverage of this "concept" as in the initial hype as the next big thing in mn up goes the SP...negative media (TO's opposition) down she tumbles...Snowdon negative in the media and down she goes again...the KORES announcement back up to 80 cents...then, a change of board a bit of a kick, then, rejection of Land, another kick, only this time in the guts, and that combined with no action whatsover, no news, no nothing and its the slippery slide to 20 cents. And all attempts via the recent ASX announcements have done bugger all to revive the fortunes.

GOT need to "bring it on"...stop the hype, in my opinion SH's are sick of it, look at the posts on here after the so called "acquisition"; look at the reaction to the scoping study, the most accurate and succinct post, in my opinion on that thread was David25's and he called it 'a croc". I enjoy posting, but I'm starting to get bored waiting, waiting, waiting and having these cyclical arguments.

C'mon GOT bring it on...lodge with the EPBC, confront the cultural genocide and environmental vandalism lobby and resolve a few things. Or don't...maybe that's a better strategy, but be buggered if a see how.

Here's a question Retrac, if the Blue Mud bay EL's are rejected what effect do you think that will have on the share price...or is that already factored in do you think...I mean a poster here called staking those EL's "corporate suicide 101".
