the Planet Earth and its various elements (such as oxygen we need for our life) are our host. if we betray or poison our host planet, something bad will happen to us, such as extinction. This is what the theory of Climate Change is about.

similarly, as @Furpo2 & my good self were discussing on a related topic about "hosts", when Jews were often expelled & persecuted by White Christian Europeans, the Islamic world became their host. For example, in 1492, when the Jews & the partners the Muslim Moors were expelled from Spain by the Catholics, many Jewish families were invited by the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire to live in Salonika in Greece. Similarly, when Jews in the 1800s wanted to move to Palestine, the Ottoman Empire (who Australia traveled 15,000 kilometres to attack at Gallipoli in 1915) allowed the Jews to do so, including buying land from Ottoman landlords. Then when those Jews came to live in Palestine, the local Palestinian people, who were both Muslim & Christian, helped them a lot, particularly looking after their children. Then in 1947, when Jewish Paramilitary expelled Palestinians from their homes, villages and even office jobs, the Jews had ready built homes and a ready built infrastructure to move into; and also ready cultivated farmlands & orchards to use.

@Furpo2 appears to think its OK to steal, kill, pillage & pollute the Host. In fact, @Furpo2 appear to blame the Host for the Host's unfortunate predicament; such as blaming the Earth when climatic conditions change rather than blaming the parasite people who overstep what is right & sustainable.

When the parasite kills the host, the parasite also is killed. @Furpo2 appears to not consider this.

Now one may argue or reply: "But the parasite can move to a new host". This may be true but eventually, in the future, the parasite will run out of hosts, such as say if the United States with its soon to be $30 trillion in debt (ignored the unfunded liabilities) has an economic collapse. The parasite may loot the host but eventually, when the host goes bankrupt, the parasite has nothing to loot.

This is called 'short-sightedness;.

Therefore, for those only concerned about what they will eat & drink today but not giving thought to the future lives of their children, grandchildren, great-children, etc, or those children of others, they will not think about the possibility of climate change seriously, just as they think killing & stealing from lesser technologically developed people is OK and will not bring harm to themself.
