To put everything into further context, the storm surge height which was expected to befall Perth should cyclone Bianca have landed in 2011 (but which thankfully petered out well short), was 2.3 metres.
So, 230 cm natural sea water level increase under an extreme cyclonic hit, versus 3 cm (at most) sea level rise due to thermal expansion from climate change. That's like being hit with the force of a watermelon and blaming it on the pips inside.
