    You need to check these thing out. Where do all those hydrography/ ice/ ionosode/ ice core data sets come from? I regularly use hydro data, and it does not come from Aus sources. The Canberra ODC has a lot of data, which they charge money for access. They get it for free from NOAA and NASA. That is contrary to the agreement under which the data was given. Treasury bastards will claw money from anywhere.

    Ships and a/c are NOAA or Coast Guard. Military help is often provided by the USN, but that is usually confined to funding.

    I understand that CSIRO tested torpedoes for collecting under-ice samples.
