I think you need to do some research because Australia does ice coring as well. It also does sea ice testing, marine biology programmes with penguins and Krill. It does All sky, Cosmic Ray, Seismic, it also runs met programmes at all stations and Im sure Ive missed some as well that Ive forgotten about.
My point was the U.S. has no Authority to try anybody in a court in regard to the Australian national waters either around the Sub Antarctic Macquarie Island or any where else. It can defer to the members of the Antarctic treaty. As for a finding in an international court, this does not apply as they are but one member of the Antarctic treaty. This is not like the U.S. which is mostly domineered by the U.S. U.K. and its friends.
