A look through the documents actually gives numbers on output, uptime etc . Interesting that several years ago CWE was not used in their comparison tables . Possibly because CWE hasn't release output details so is just considered a research project?
An interesting modular system using concrete slabs as anchors , cheap small linear generators and many small buoys . That is a lot of small connections and parts to go wrong but each one only makes up a small part of the network
All systems have their limitations but these guys have actually done a deal after having a trial farm up for 9 years and reached commercialisation. Place their numbers as the benchmark and see how we compare and try and ascertain what wave energy environments are suitable.
Quick read of patents of all wave energy companies and on the surface at some point there will be legal cases or forced licensing or disputes. I assume CWE and other companies like Mitsubishi would all be scavenging the bones of failed wave energy companies getting patents to give themselves further protection in the future.
Be nice to eventually see CWE numbers and see if they will be commercial on cost and output in the real world and then they still have to get a actually commercial deployment contract.
