Those big numbers are valuations put forward by analysts on the "Success" scenario. That in essence means "what would be the value of 190mbbl of oil to TPT". They range from $3.30 to $8.50 and a lot more if the best case scenario of recoverability is achieved.

Initial response to Assaka will depend entirely on what they tell us. If they say "we have encountered a 100m oil column of light crude in a good quality reservoir" (best case) then some valuations for this alone (not including anything for Trident) as in the range of $1.00-$3.50. So it could shoot up well over $1.00 quickly. By quickly I mean on the day of the announcement. It may then spike higher or run all the way back depending on the implications of what they find.

Equally of course if its a duster and the reservoir is water full then expect a quick fall especially if the geological implications for trap and seal are negative for Trident. If they encounter some oil but not much then upside may only be to $0.50 as we await the real target at Trident.

Guesses really but as there are lots of punters on this one expect some fast and furious trading in either direction on news.
