Correct you are, and I have my own view on which of your two statements is true.

In any case, this could play out any number of ways and I agree that they won't sell for anything less than full value. I'm happy to sit back and watch the drill bit prove it up. If it does - and my unbridled optimism says it will! - it will be very interesting to see if Senegal becomes an exception to their deepwater exit strategy, particularly if the oil price improves between now and then. If it doesn't and they do end up selling to someone with much deeper pockets and a longer term vision, then so be it. So long as they bring the goods to the table!
