It's still unclear what game OM and ASX were playing, and we may never get to know, but it seems a fair assumption they were up to no good. ASX was aware it didn't have sufficient powers, so tried roping ASIC in but their investigator smelt a rat.
It's feeling like a chess game now. You know that point where any move your opponent makes still leads to checkmate, and you just bait them to see how they react. The bait is there in the 4FASOC, and I don't think a settlement is too far off. JK appears to be feeling confident about it going by his comments on social media. However, as you said we shouldn't get too optimistic just yet; the law sometimes brings unexpected twists.
