According to a study done by the Victorian Energy Policy Center, the available existing commercial building rootops could support a huge amount of solar . Almost enough to power the east coast grid by itself .
Green electricity generated at the point of load thus massively reducing the need for new transmission lines. A clean fully recyclable generation system that produces no super expensive toxic waste that threatens our farmland and the human population. The footprint already exists so it effectively requires no extra land at all. Unlike white elephant baseload nuclear that has to be located far from civilisation.
