For a few years now these Oz cricketers have been utterly average at best. Shocking techniques are the reason for poor concentration spans. Dont go on about fight and pride - that will always diminish when you just dont have the skills. If people in Oz rate Steve Smith they need their head read. That must be one of the ugliest techniques in test cricket history and his average is the next Wonder of the World.
Bowling: not a spinner of any repute from Perth to Brisbane. Fact. Lyon is a joke no matter how much Warne sucks up to and for him. Anyone else you have picked in the last ten years has also been seriously found out.
Fielding: Oh my God this is where I am truly suprised at this teams demise but it has been getting steadily worse year after year since Waugh gave up the game. To drop sitters in the outfield is a disgrace and the fact they arent scrutinized for this shows the absolute arrogance of the Australian Cricket machine.
However, perhaps the most berating aspect for followers of cricket worldwide is the Channel 9 commentary team. In a way they are a microcosm of this arrogant system that is Australian Cricket. Ignorance, greed, total disrespect, a lack of accountability, and above all a total contradiction in thinking sums up everything that is cricket in Oz. The likes of Healy, Slater, and Warne are the laughing stock of world cricket. Warne says we need 4 day test matches - well you're getting your wish Shane. In the same breathe he believed Faf had declared too late even though there were over 5 sessions left in the game. Any Australian error (and many of which are of schoolboy standard) is washed over with excuses or a change of topic - usually to a glance to the past reminding themselves of the glory days. A mistake by the opposition is scrutinized and criticised to the absolute limit which is utterly sickening and illustrates the lack of professionalism in the dominant Australian cricket channel. However the worst of all is not even an Australian. Mark Nicholas is nothing short of a soul-selling greedy swine who will do anything to push the case for Australia. His smarmy and narrow minded commentary style is a disgrace to all things media. I can be certain there are very few people who respect him since his early days on Channel 4 in England. He is a different person and all for the love of money.
Which leads us to the Big Bash. A money hungry establishment can not expect to prosper at international level when such a detrimental competition exists on home soil. Good crowds, huge money, crap sport.
So a massive "good job" Australia. The world is enjoying this and would cough up a sledge if they were as low as your Haddins and Faulkners but what is the point. Just look at the scoreboard. Look at the scoreboard.
