Yes, i understand where you are coming from and totally agree with you there.
With the government guarantee in place the banks basically have a nice get out of jail free card that they can use irrespective of what happens to the housing market. ( I wont waffle on about the housing market but having sold 3 of our 5 investment properties in the last 18 months I think that should give you an idea where my train of thought is on that issue...)
