Sydney - Friday - June 15: (RWE Australian Business News) - Arasor International Ltd (ASX code: ARR), through its channels in India, has entered a $32 million multi-year, multi-phase strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Pyramid Saimira Theaters Ltd (PSTL), a D-Cinema based theatre company in India. D-Cinema refers to electronic distribution of movie content, enabled by next-generation DLP projectors. Under the MOU, Arasor will provide photonic signal processing and broadband wireless content delivery network solutions, integrated security and surveillance and Network Operating Centres. Directors said the agreement would enable Arasor to supply technology solutions to PSTL theatres all over India, Malaysia and in other countries. PSTL currently plans to grow its footprint in Malaysia to 200 new theatres by 2008 and expand its presence to 10,000 theatres in India and China by the end of the decade. "Under the provisions of the MOU, Arasor has secured an initial purchase order for delivery of next-generation D-Cinema solutions for rollout in Malaysia and which provide completely new viewing experiences to the cinema audience in a highly controlled medium, whereby content piracy is mitigated," the directors said.
