Posting the short article & link below (from 24 Dec just gone) but what grabbed my attention was the "who" and I will re-post one of my earlier Patent ramblings from July last year....I don't presume for a moment it is our tech but there does appear to be a possible cross over of sorts in the line of biometric thinking that gets me wondering.....hmmmm

NEW YORK) -- Corneal scans are a common sight in spy movies, but they could soon provide security for your bank account.
Biometric security may soon be a reality, CitiBank, Bank of America and J.P. Morgan Chase say they are working on technology that would allow account holders to scan either their cornea or a fingerprint to access their accounts.
Former prosecutor and cyber security expert Jonathan Fairtlough said the technology would "add security by providing a level of uniqueness that just doesn't exist with simple passwords."
Heather Cox, who works at the CitiBank Innovation Lab, agrees, saying that the iris scan is " the second most reliable marker in your body behind the DNA."
The Electronic Frontier Foundation notes, however, that there could still be vulnerability within these systems if someone was able to hack into where customers' biometric records are stored.

Still also trying to get my head around the JP Morgan Chase Bank Patent for Biometrics (2014) which I think may have posted previously but just having a re-read of it. There are 2 related - #414 & #415.
From memory JP bought into WBT earlier this year (?) and there are definite references to corneal imaging for biometric access to internal PC's as well as an additional / related Patent #415 regarding mobile banking accesses extending from Patent #414.
I don't recall finding any other corneal biometric as yet on the mkt?
JP hedging their future bets? Remembering Steven said WBT tech images the cornea but randomly will use only a portion of the map as additional security layer.

The method may include: (1) capturing, at an electronic device, an image of an iris of a user; (2) comparing, using at least one computer processor, biometrics data from the image of the iris to stored iris biometrics data for the user; (3) verifying that the image of the iris is a live image; (4) capturing, at the electronic device, a side image of the iris; (5) verifying, using the at least one computer processor, a transparency of a cornea in the side image of the iris; and (6) authenticating the user.
