86's quoted tweet concerning ASIC and Unisuper sounds like a roundabout way of market regulation, ie.constricting shares for loaning out to shorters. This, then, greatly lessens the quantity of shares to be loaned while increasing the brokers' interest/fees.
Less shares; greater cost; new risk/reward calculation.
