We need to vote STEM people into office... Zuckerberg made that extremely clear while Congress was attempting to communicate at him.
I don't think the status quo even can continue but if it somehow did then that sends us back into depending on mining and housing again... But housing can't keep going like this without real pay rises so cross that off and we are now left with banking the Australian economy on LNG, Ore and China.
LNG is dying and China is not our friend.
We desperately need a long term plan for Australia. It logically should be to look at what is ahead for Earth and relentlessly pour money into STEM and become a world leader of renewables and storage and then sell it to the developing nations and to build gigantic solar and wind farms in the North so we can directly sell electricity to nations that don't have the space or technology, like our little neighbor Indonesia (5th must populated country on Earth).
Australia with it's vast size and low population should be aiming to power a big chunk of Asia and India.
