In the OT, there are many prophesies re Jesus to be, and NOT ONE of these event hints at, that a pre-existing one in some form, would become flesh or enter Mary.
So why in The Father and Jesus's names, would you go and make this creation, such a nonsense claim ??????????????
You cannot tell me, that the OT would not have said such.

What John in doing in his opening, is picking up on the OT prophesy;
Mal 3:1 - Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith Yehowah of hosts.

Hence the first 13 verses are centered around him and his word and what it brings, creation, followed by Jesus etc, and his words are Spirit and Life.

Preparing the way = show what and who was already, to know the Son, you need to know the Father, as to who and from what he comes.

So you now have The Word = Father and The Word of God = Son.
The Father IS the Holy Spirit, Jesus's Father, just a Luke CLEARLY shows you, OR to those of God.
