A friend and i were discussing this today. He has just started thinking about his situation and ran this by me.

He and his wife have six kids, all grown up. They own a block which is 34 acres. They can have it subdivided, and can get six blocks (approx 5acs each) out of it, this includes the block with the house in which they live and intend to live for some time to come.

Of the six kids, only one wants a block on which to build. The other five want the monetary proceeds from the other four blocks once they are sold (remember the block with the house on it will not be sold yet).

So one child gets a block, the other five share the proceeds of four blocks.

When he and his wife leave (in a wooden box as he puts it) what should happen to the proceeds of that last block with the five acres on it?

    Cheers for your thoughts.
