EU figures show 80% of the refugees flowing into Europe are NOT from Syria. The vast majority are economic refugees which is why once they hit Europe they head towards the countries with the most generous welfare - Scandanavian countries, England and Germany. Interestingly, Finland just reported that last year several thousand refugees have voluntarily gone back to their country because they found Finland to be too cold...so they are fleeing persecution only to find that cold weather is even worse than persecution!
Steyn, like me, is mainly a Libertarian. Libertarian viewpoints are quite different from the right on many key issues. A little nuanced I know but an important difference.
