Best example is SIR, they're not forecasted to start developing or producing til late 2016. And they still don't have the money (I think) to progress developing their project so it's just stagnant.
The presence of Vale though may change things and as more discoveries are made derisking the area, more large caps will swoop in. I'm not sure how long demerger/spin-offs take but BHP's spin-off which will deal with nickel may come into the fray in the mid-long term.
