Councils have no power. The State Govt is forcing council amalgamations. Apparently we have twice as many as VIC. It will be great as there will be less public servants being a drain on the taxpayer, and will run more efficiently.
PH did say that most of the opposition to Mel was from Lismore, Nimbin and Byron, nowhere near Casino, where Mel has huge plans. It seems that the Lismore councillors have no respect for Mels supreme court ruling. When will they accept that under the NSW Gas plan, the State Govt will decide what areas will be allowed for CSG.
