Large managed funds eg M&G allocate a certain percentage of Funds to different sectors.
When appropriate the Asset Management of the Fund will change the balance of its allocation to stocks, such as is happening to DML.
The sell off takes no account of the current price or trend of the stock, only that they have to reduce to a pre - determined %, that only they know!
Management insists that there are no underlying factors to justify the sell off. (Recent broker coverage)
Based on this I will not be panic selling!! Does the volume today suggest some other fund may be increasing its allocation? (contrarian investors)
