I am in full agreement with your approach to trading.

I am belatedly learning not to get emotionally attached to stocks and to cut losses.

Your 5% and 10% rules are helpful.

I agree in relation to "successful traders has good risk management strategies".

My experience is similar to yours in terms of winners and losers - we all pick stocks that we think warrant our investment funds but we get as many wrong as we get right.

So, in order to survive it is imperative to cut loses early and hopefully not on simple volatility (as opposed to a change in trend).

P.S. I agree with your diagnosis of KGN - though others would beg to differ with us chart influenced traders.
