Most of the damage was done via his predecessor by acquiring non-performing assets that had to be written down and obviously affected profitability. Add to that, the incredibly weak yields on offer have meant the investment portfolio hasn't been able to do much.
The next few years will be interesting, that's for sure. In the short-term, I'm happy for the SP to stay around $12 for the next couple of weeks so that I get a good DRP price. Medium-long term the fundamentals still remain. This could hit $15 in the next 6 months and $18 in 12 if the Fed do what they say they're going to do and hike 3 times this year...
