I read a piece by Warren Buffett (famous investor) who said that you sell a share only when the money you get from selling gives you greater pleasure than the pleasure of owning the stock. In other words if you need money to pay off a mortgage,, selling will probably make you very happy..........happier probably than sitting on shares which may drop.
Personally I reckon Buffett makes a lot of contradictory statements.
