Moses those sell orders are designed to spook people into seeing a whole lot of weakness and to lead them to selling their shares.

These shares are then bought by the very people who are putting in the sell orders.

It is very transparent and has been going on with EMS/SUD for years (it comes and goes). It typically has very little success as not many people fall for it.

But it doesnt stop them from trying!

And as I have said before, the easiest way to manipulate a stock is by using the market depth (to put in large bids or offers, depending on what you want to do) as it doesnt cost a cent in transaction costs nor physical trading of actual shares.
