Announcement clearly says "Summit is in advanced discussions with a third party in connection with an alternative proposal to the hostile takeover offer by Paladin Resources Ltd."
They won't be in advanced discussions for a deal worse than the PDN offer ............. and all this stuff usually generates interest in the target.
