sell then buy to vote

Hi guys

Can we sell AVX shares now to incur capital loss then buy again to participate in EGM voting?

Re outcome of EGM, unless the new directors present us with a super extremely strong argument (& in a timely manner for us to digest it) my hunch is there will be no change to the current arrangement though. As it stands now Mr Drona is offering certainty (albeit a pathetic one) and this is what people like - certainty.

Any thoughts?
