my take is that someone was hoping to get the GIP stake cheap knowing that GIP has cash flow issues, and forcing the price down, it was very strange trading.
Now those issues have been addressed by GIP for the moment we will probably see the price rally, esp if the perpetrator was using borrowed stock.
