Odd share amounts can occur from time to time - for example people holding odd amounts due to shareholder purchase plans or dividend reinvestments with price set at 5% below market price. These odd amounts of shares will cause these unusual matches from time to tuime (small number of shares on the buy or sell side as a result of selling their odd allocation).
Some shareholders make a point of holding a single share in a company to keep their details intact on the register - for next time they purchase a marketable holding.
