It is correct that CGT is reduced by holding investments for 12 months, even better relief can be had by holding long term investments in a super fund.
Upon retirement the fund can be turned into a pension and the result is nearly tax free.
That's a government incentive to self-fund your retirement.
And that's where my HDR live!
It also means that I have no real incentive to trade those shares.
