Yes, Trashcan I remember paying $1500 for a video recorder that was built to last, but complicated to operate compared to today's cheap plastic made to last 2 years equivalent. That was in 1984 from memory. Sold it last year, someone actually wanted something that old due to the quality I guess.
There are major drawbacks to the environment with currently sold tech items, but little regard given to this by those who manufacture or profit from the items.
Who else remembers the frig they grew up with never needing to be replaced?
Many of us are also over all these gizmos.
