I wonder how shareholders really feel about selling our resource companies to other countries. It is giving away control of a vital commodity to another power, no matter whether you think of the Brits as friendly or otherwise. That doesn't matter. Forget about the shortsightedness of getting extra $$ in hand. Origin would soon enough have been around $ 14 without the help of this t.o. offer.
Origin are working on something at the moment involving solar. Personally I recently bought the shares after I had taken them up as my own service provider and I am not happy at all to think that my electricity service would be in the hands of a foreign country. (Not counting NZ by the way).
