I don't know what is driving this startling price spike...but I recall that I decision was expected around this time regarding the future of the mcquaire contract.

"Management has also expressed concerns over its alliances with Macquarie. The alliances generates a large proportion of PWTs revenue, it accounted for 34% of the revenue for the six months to 30 June 2003. As the consequence of the change in
substantial shareholdings in PWT, Macquarie is putting the alliances on
probationary for 6 months. If during the six months period, PWT continues to
conduct the alliances in the normal course of business as throughout the past
year, then Macquarie will not exercise its right of termination."

Perhaps this review is over and the future of the contract is no longer in doubt...a major risk eliminated and an accordingly, the share price has appreciated.
