diversification - why ? cos some fund manager said so ? cos you read it in book ? cos the rich do it ?
cmon, if you have a stock you have supreme confidence in, is in a sector that has the rosiest future possible, has multiple deals with some of the biggest players in the world with enormous cashflows, all having easily, and i mean easily survived the latest economic crash, why the hell would you bother diversifying ?
MRM, like many similar companies in the O&G services sector, is a winner - end of story. sure its easy to believe that mermaid, and others, have peaked according to charts and various valuation methods, but at the end of the day, this is a sector about to be inundated with cash - not promises - not debt - and will prove to be the major growth story for the next 5-10 years.
if your portfolio is on a good thing, even if thats one solitary stock, stick to it. diversification is for those who dont have confidence in their investments, their decisions, and for the chronically rich, who need to keep it. for the rest of us, trying to get there, find your ground breaking winner and embrace it totally.
