The town of Ravensthorpe has been devestated by BHP pulling the plug on their Nickel project. Word has it that BHP will take their medicine and accept that their costings were way out and will never re-open. It is thought that the plant will be dismantled. This is the word from a local resident.

It is all the more reason why TTRs proposed Phillips River Project MUST proceed. The Governments and Private enterprise have committed a lot of funds to infrastructure development in the area.

There are several companies with interests in the area but TTRs Phillips River probably has the potential to be the biggest long term employer.

TTRs Mission Statement a few years ago included something like "to outlast BHP" in the area. It looks like this is going to be very true.
