    From today's AFR..

Debate on Sen.Conroy's plan to split Telstra resumed in the Senate yesterday but was later suspended as the government said the debate was holding up other bills.

In a win for Telstra, the government re-ordered Senate business and indicated it would try to put the telcommunications reforms to a vote on Thursday, the last sitting day before a long recess until the May budget....

    My comment..
Senate concern over NBN and it's lack of financial probity intensified yesterday after study of a report received from KPMG and McKinsey...

    From today's AFR..

The scientific study of the NBN project costing $25 million citied Wikipedia as a source.

Greens Senator Scott Ludlam said the conclusions were not enough to support the decision last year to abandon a $4.7 billion broadband policy in favour of a more expensive projec to lay optical fibre to 90 per cent of homes.
"It's virtually a pamphlet and if thats all they've done, you'd have to be concerned." he said

Family First Senator Fielding said he did not like seeing a CSIRO report that was relied upon by federal cabinet referencing Wikipedia as a source.
"$43 billion is a lot of money to spend on any project and I'd like to know as much detail as possible to make sure we are moving along the right lines," he said.

Independent Nick Xenophon was also worried, he said the report lacked any real level of detail. "At seven pages long, including references, thats $6 billion a page. It hardly seems like a rigorous exploration of all the options. This is further proof of the need to see the implementation study. We simply need more detail."

Senator Ludlam has separately lodged an order for Senator Conroy to release the KPMG and McKinsey study by 10am tomorrow, tapping into frustration in the upper house over the suppression of key reports.
