    From article in todays SMH; Senate deadline: showdown over broadband document

    http://www.smh.com.au/technology/technology-news/senate-deadline-showdown-over-broadband-document-20100316-qcm5.html

    "THE stage is set for a Senate showdown over the national broadband network - the government is facing a deadline this morning to produce a key study into its design.

    A motion moved by the Greens and backed by the opposition last week gave the government until 10am today to table the study it commissioned into the implementation of the network. But it is understood the Communications Minister, Stephen Conroy, will defy the request.

    While the motion is not enforceable, the failure to table the document is likely to antagonise crossbench senators whose votes are crucial to the passage of related legislation to split Telstra's wholesale and retail business."

    ...The Telstra legislation was pulled in the face of a vote from a Senate becoming increasingly hostile. Doubt it'll be resubmitted before the Senate breaks.

    Meanwhile Conroy & Co go ahead with big money outlays on NBN Rollouts;
    will there ever be an accounting for this?
